Naomi Newell is an Associate in Wallbrook’s London office, where she primarily works on integrity due diligence and business intelligence reports by the Greater China Team.

Prior to Wallbrook, Naomi has worked in several client-facing roles. She has worked as an education consultant for Chinese clients, and helped facilitate academic exchanges within the China UK Development Centre. She is a CELTA-qualified English teacher, has worked part time as a freelance interviewer for a social research organisation and headed the customer service team in a resort in Finnish Lapland.

Naomi holds a first-class degree in Chinese from the University of Cambridge, which included a year abroad studying at Ocean University in Qingdao. Her undergraduate dissertation involved fieldwork in Taiwan, investigating the land rights and subsequent protests of indigenous groups. She has also completed a master’s degree in Global Politics at the London School of Economics and Political Science. For her master’s thesis, she conducted research on competing environmental and economic factors in the governance of China’s transboundary rivers, in particular focussing on regions shared with Kazakhstan and Russia.

Naomi reads Mandarin, French and Spanish and enjoys learning Russian in her free time.
