Martina is a Senior Associate at Wallbrook’s Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) practice. She advises investment firms on integrating ESG considerations into their investment process. In her recent work, Martina developed the ESG policy of a large impact investor in alignment with international frameworks, including the IFC Performance Standards and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Martina is Wallbrook’s point person for upcoming sustainability regulations, including the Sustainable Finance Disclosures Regulation (SFDR) and the EU Taxonomy. In this role, she works with clients to develop flexible and holistic ESG strategies to accommodate upcoming regulations and support portfolio companies in a fast-evolving regulatory landscape.
Martina started her career at Wallbrook with the firm’s Due Diligence practice, conducting assessments of reputational and security risks, political exposure and corruption. In her work with the Due Diligence practice, Martina supported clients in integrating ESG and security risks in their transaction due diligence in high-risk jurisdictions. Her experience across ESG and Due Diligence places her in an excellent position to assess, contextualise, and help clients understand the relationship between sustainability and compliance.
Before joining Wallbrook, Martina was part of the French Civic Service programme, working at the Paris-based NGO European Grassroots Antiracist Movement (EGAM). She represented EGAM at the OECD and the Council of Europe and coordinated European projects on human rights and education.
Martina graduated with distinction from a master’s programme in political economy of Europe at the London School of Economics, where she focused on EU policymaking, including environmental, social and anticorruption initiatives. She holds a bachelor’s degree in diplomacy and international relations from the University of Trieste in Italy.
