Anan is a Wallbrook Director who oversees the Middle East and North Africa desk in London, focusing on third party integrity due diligence, business intelligence and litigation support.
Anan has undertaken dozens of complex cases across the region for a variety of clients including wealth managers, banks, pharmaceutical firms and industrial multinationals. He specialises in the Levant, the Arabian Gulf, as well as Israel, where he grew up. Anan has worked closely with Wallbrook’s ESG practice on several occasions, looking into investments in SMEs with ties to Syria, and completing an assessment of micro loan practices for refugees in Lebanon and Jordan for a major international development fund.
Prior to Wallbrook, Anan was an analyst with Stroz Friedberg’s Due Diligence and Strategic Research team. There, he conducted a melange of quick turnaround due diligence assignments, asset traces and deep dive enhanced investigations.
Anan began his career at Asia Society in New York, where he was a member of its Middle East policy research programme. In this role, he organised high-level talks in Brussels in conjuncture with the Belgian royal palace that convened prominent world thinkers, business leaders, and statesmen. Separately, he put together a discussions series in Hong Kong where next-generation social impact leaders from across Asia and the Middle East exchanged ideas.
Anan holds a master’s degree in comparative politics (conflict studies) from the London School of Economics. He graduated magna cum laude in political science from Hunter College of the City University of New York, where he focused on international political economy. As a student, Anan also spent some time in Italy where he studied at the Università per Stranieri in Perugia. Palestinian by origin, Anan is native in Arabic and fluent in Hebrew. He has advanced proficiency of Italian.
